Barbara Jean Sims, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 92.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her son, Cary Sims; mother, Mable Lousie Wilkerson; father, Raymond 鈥淒oc鈥 Gober ; brother, Raymond Gober Jr.; and sister, Betty Jo Baydoun.
She is survived by her husband of almost 77 years, Charles W. Sims; daughters, Gwen (Dan) Crow and Barrie Smith; daughter-in-law, Karen Sims; brother, Jerry (Kathy) Gober; grandchildren, Lanessa (Alex) Bueno, Michelle Smith, Tracy (Rob) Taylor, Kelly (Mickey) Parrish and Taylor (Cody) Coburn; great- grandchildren, Drew Ostrander, Jakob Doster, Kailee Boleyjack, Lucas Bueno, Erin Ostrander, Nina Bueno, Caden Parrish and Gracie Davis; and great-great-granddaughters, Whrenlee Bersch and Charlotte Coburn.
Barbara was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and resided in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, the last 35 years. Barbara will be remembered for her love of family, cooking, baking (known for the best chocolate fudge pie), shopping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, being a member of the Red Hat Society and playing bunco.
She married Charles at the age of 15 and was one month shy of their 77th wedding anniversary when she passed away. She raised three children and lived a full and happy life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 25, 2025, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Sellars Funeral Home of Mt. Juliet. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
