As early voting begins for the May 5 Macon County primary, here is the list of candidates. The primary is only for party-affiliated candidates seeking the party nomination for the Aug. 6 general election, Independent candidates will only be voted on during the general election.
During the primary election, voters will choose two candidates for Macon County Commission districts. Other positions will only have one vote for a candidate.
Several of the positions do not have candidates for the primary, as they are not affiliated with either the Republican or Democrat parties.聽
A space for voters to write-in a candidate will be listed under each position.
Incumbent candidates, those already in office and seeking re-election, are noted where possible.

Districts 3, 4 and 5
District 6
District 7
District 8
District 9
District 10
Sheriff
Register of Deeds
The positions of County Trustee, Circuit Court Clerk and County Clerk only have one Republican candidate each. Kim Parks, Rick Gann and Beth Fryman, respectively.聽
According to the sample ballot provided by the Macon County Commission, no party-affiliated candidates are running for the Macon County School Board in the May 5 Primary.
For Lafayette voters, Scott Gammons, Peter Froesbeck, David Kempf and Lynn Newberry will appear on the Lafayette City Council ballot.聽
